George Boileau is a Canadian sculptor and educator. He was the department head of Sculpture & Installation at OCAD University from 1987 to 2012. Boileau creates bronze and steel sculptures that situate intricately detailed figures in alienating structural environments, which offer a profound and thought-provoking exploration of human existence.
Boileau received his Bachelor of Engineering at Carleton University in 1976 and an Associate from the Ontario College of Art at Ontario College of Art in 1983. His sculptural practice is often introspective, presenting poetic observations about contemporary everyday life.
Boileau has exhibited extensively over the past three decades. His sculptures are in numerous public and private collections, and his public art commissions adorn various sites, including Harvard University and the University of Guelph.
