CARL WHITE: To The Wonder

In "To the Wonder", Renaissance angels no longer hover above altars but descend into graffiti-covered alleyways and concrete cityscapes. By interweaving classical iconography with contemporary urban imagery, White constructs visual palimpsests that disrupt traditional art historical hierarchies. Gilded halos meet spray-painted tags, and sacred forms are recast through the lens of the everyday.

The result is a series of striking, hybrid compositions that explore belief, beauty, and contradiction in equal measure. To the Wonder invites viewers into a liminal space where the divine and the profane coexist—and where wonder emerges from their collision.
